This slide show highlights some of the major steps involved in the disassembly process. I plan to do a step by step in the T5 Info section one day soon.

A Camaro T5 bell housing has a design that mounts the transmission in a slightly rotated position. If you use a standard bell housing, then there is NO ROTATION. Today I made some pictures that compare a T5 mounted on a standard cast iron bell and also mounted on a 1990 Camaro bell housing. These pictures clearly show where the rotation comes from and that it has nothing to do with the transmission itself. I have added this info to the T5 Info Page.
A friend let me use his shop press to remove the final pieces from the main shaft today. It's time to order the rebuild kit. Meanwhile, I have started cleaning parts. Today I also removed the cable drive speedo tail housing from my 1983 S10 T5. It cleaned up pretty well and will be swapped for the Camaro tail housing so the shifter comes up in front of my truck's bench seat.
